The Romania’s High Court of Cassation and Justice ruled that the popular Romanian hacker Guccifer will be extradited to the United States.

Marcel Lazar Lehel it the real name of the name of the notorious hacker Guccifer who breached the online accounts of several public figures between December 2012 and January 2014.

The popular hacker revealed he violated the accounts of his victims by guessing the answers to security questions.

News of the day is that the 42-year-old Romanian national hacker will be extradited to the United States, the decision was taken by a Romania’s High Court of Cassation and Justice. The Romanian supreme court approved the request of US authorities on Friday, the local authorities will hand over Guccifer to the United States for a period of 18 months.

Authorities believe Guccifer hacked into the email accounts of several individuals in the United States, including former Secretary of State Colin Powell, members of the Bush family, venture capitalist John Doerr, military officials, actors, and journalists.

Guccifer also hacked, at least, the accounts of two Romanian officials.

The man was arrested in January 2014 by the Romanian police in a joint operation with the US authorities, in June of the same year he was sentenced to seven years in prison for hacking the accounts of Romanian politician Corina Cretu and George Maior, the head of the Romanian Intelligence Service (SRI).

A US federal grand jury also indicted Guccifer on charges of wire fraud, identity theft, unauthorized access to a protected computer, and cyberstalking.
